It’s quality all the way with this superb new 12” featuring four incredible tracks from Balearic legends Elkin & Nelson. These talented Columbian brothers moved to Spain in the 70s where they fused funk, soul and Afro influences with their native Latin rhythms to create dancefloor gold. Refreshingly avoiding their well known and recently reissued anthem ‘Jibaro’, this EP instead unearths more obscure but equally brilliant gems previously unavailable on 12”. Side A features the floor-filling Latin brilliance that is ‘Abran Paso - Ahoa’ followed by the awesome ‘A Caballo’. Then on the flip we get the sublimely beautiful yet enticingly groovy full 9 minute verson of ‘Vamonos’, an Ibiza classic favoured in 80s by the Island’s original Balearic DJs like Alfredo and Pippi. Finally rounding things off is in style is the duo’s definitive take on the Bill Withers’ classic ‘Ain’t No Sunshine’. Proper old school Ibiza - Viva España!
