The bermuda triangle of Berlin; a meeting of medicinal minds for the inaugural splitstep. Byron Yeates, Roza Terenzi & D, Tiffany come Tag-teaming and steaming with licks of flirty tech, hard house, pumping prog and sleek, freaky techno bouncing off the walls. A true melting pot of deeply burrowed memories of dance, the trio collaborate in various ways to propel a new age wave of dance music; a delicious mix of rough, tough and playfully feminine which embodies Step Ball Chain.
Cheers queers!

Gushing all over the A Side with a funk force of tech house, Roza Terenzi sticks her heels in and locks down The Groove™ like no other, reduced tempo for the calm before the storm. Warming up the original just in time for the Byron Yeates remix; providing a stripped back, sped up, jacking rendition of Gush served hot and heavy. Bouncing into the B side, Byron causes the heat to rise to the top, Cauldron of Chaos simmering and ready to blow, use with caution. Rounding out this seriously hot record is Roza & D. Tiff with a tech leaning team up, Prude Pride hitting all the right spots for a manifested meltdown.

When Octo Octa sent us the demos for her first full-length record since 2013, we were floored by how many tracks were single worthy. But, there was one that stood out as something entirely on its own, a song that in many ways sounded like nothing Maya had ever released. Since the beginning, we always knew we wanted to do something special with "Adrift," the 8+ minute space-age synth-dub techno tune. When we asked Maya about doing a 12" with remixes we were blindsided to learn she has NEVER had any of her music remixed before. With some remixers in mind, she asked two of her favorites and they said yes. So, here we are to present HNY-016 Octo Octa - Adrift, remixed by Avalon Emerson and Dorisburg.
New World Science's Osmos (Movements) is a sincere foray into forth-world fantasy, where disparate synthesizer styles are tied together by harmonized saxophone musings.Comprised of four recordings/jams between Francis Latreille (Priori-mastermind behind the project), Adam Feingold (Ex-Terrestrial), and Emmanuel Thibau, and featuring appearances by Phoebe Guillemot (Ramzi) and Richard Wenger (R Weng), these multi-stream compositions float in the uncertain spaces between electronic and acoustic, improvisation and production, old and new.Beautiful, subtle, and entrancing compositions suited to suborbital meditations.
A beautifully produced collection of instrumental tracks by The Disciples' Russ Bell-Brown featuring 8 excursions in chill out, atmospheric downtempo and dubby breakbeat. Surely we wouldn't be surprised to hear some of these at a Cafe del Mar sunset session in Ibiza. The way these tracks build up over a gradient (sometimes up to 11 minutes long) from silence to mellowed out spacial trance was clearly not done with industry standards of any sort in mind, allowing the listener to dive deep into the takes of this uncompromising producer. The title Experiments couldn't be more appropriate. In his own words: “This is a collection of tracks recorded in the mid 90`s... not reggae but what i call my `experiments`... downtempo, electronic, ambient, ethnic, jazzy, funky, dubby.... whatever came into my mind.” Surgically re-mastered for vinyl by manmade mastering in Berlin.
